The “Beginner II” level is the third swim lesson offered at Highland Swim Club. Although the instructor will ALWAYS be in the water, students in the Beginner II lesson MUST feel comfortable swimming/being in the water on their own. • Jump into the water on their own
  • Freestyle kick on kickboard on their own
  • Kick on back with kickboard
  • Float on their own
  • Retrieve a toy from the bottom of the shallow end
  • Freestyle arms while holding kickboard
  • Be able to complete at least half of a lap of correct freestyle without stop
 OBJECTIVES:
  • Strengthen all prerequisite techniques
  •  Complete full laps of correct freestyle without stopping
  •  Learn to tread water
  •  Work on the backstroke

*OVERALL GOAL OF THIS LESSON IS FOR THE STUDENT TO PASS THE DEEP WATER TEST*
